Jacobs Named ENR Southwest Design Firm of the Year

ENR Mountain States & Southwest has selected Jacobs as the 2026 Southwest Design Firm of the Year. Firms of the Year are chosen by ENR editors based on factors that include regional revenues, new initiatives, current projects, community and industry contributions and other considerations. ENR's Southwest region includes Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.Large-scale projects led by Jacobs' Arizona offices are reshaping the regional construction landscape. In Chandler, Ariz., Jacobs' Fab 52 project with Hoffman Construction is the largest semiconductor fabrication facility Intel has built to date, providing more than 2.9 million sq ft of overall space for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Fab 52 was awarded Project of the Year and Excellence in Safety honors at ENR's Best of the Best project awards event in New York City on March 26, 2026. In Sheep Springs, N.M., Jacobs is the design-build firm on the $267-million San Juan Lateral Water Treatment Plant for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. The plant was one of the region's top project starts in 2025, and construction is expected to be completed by 2028. Jacobs will handle O&M for 12-24 months post-construction, then turn the plant over to the Navajo Nation and Navajo Tribal Utility Authority by 2030.
